Lower highs and Higher Lows

Friends, I may sound stupid but I really need to clearify it. How does lower highs and higher lows work? I can see a symmetical triangle formed base on lh and hl but i dont know where lines should be touching... plz help in plain english :-

I hope this link helps to understand. The higher highs, lower lows is a basic tenet of Dow theory. It has to do with trends. http://www.investopedia.com/universi...Dowtheory2.asp In trading, there is no bullshit. You either make money or you don't.
